The HPE Smart Array P816i-a SR Gen10 Controller, suppting 12Gb/s SAS and PCIe 3.0, is ideal f maximizing perfmance while suppting advanced RAID levels with 4 GB flash-backed write cache (FBWC). This controller operates in Mixed Mode which combines RAID and HBA operations simultaneously. It has 16 internal SAS lanes, allowing connection of up to 16 SAS SATA drives without need f the SAS Expander Card providing point to point connectivity to SSDs f lower latency. It also offers encryption f data-at-rest on any drive with HPE Smart Array SR Secure Encryption and accelerates access to data on HDDs with the HPE Smart Array SR SmartCache license which comes standard with this controller. This type-a modular controller occupies a dedicated stage slot without occupying a PCIe expansion slot and provides enterprise-class stage perfmance, reliability, security and efficiency needed to address your evolving data stage needs. The Gen10 controllers are suppted by the HPE Smart Stage Battery, which suppts multiple devices and is sold separately.
